Literature review is a part of such academic papers as term papers, courseworks, research papers and dissertations or theses. This part of academic paper is necessary in order to show what literature you have used during writing this or that academic paper. From one side it seems not so difficult to create a list of literary sources. But from other side, simple list of literary sources is not enough. This list should be described. What does it mean? First of all, it is really necessary to compose the list of literary sources. The form of this list depends upon the style of your academic paper. The most popular styles of formats are APA style, MLA style, Chicago style, Vancouver style, and Turabian style. Each one if this styles has its rules concerning writing list of literature as well as references, foot-notes, citations etc. So, when you list of literary sources is already composed, it is time to pas to the description. The description is called literature review. You have to describe in a short form how you used certain literary sources, why you came to conclusion to use it, and why it was important for your academic paper.
